We often hear about eco-sustainability, but many people have a still very vague idea of what it means specifically.
Eco-sustainable or eco-friendly is a set of behaviors compatible with the environment as it does not usurp the resources. Those who choose to help the environment and therefore to be environmentally sustainable, also choose to take a series of small daily actions such as, reduce waste, recycle and reuse, but above all, the concept of green mobility that lead to the preservation of the planet reducing waste accumulate.
The Austrian Pavilion welcomed last night the guys of Mission Zero Emission. The group of young people between 18 and 25 years have started last August 4 from Innsbruck to walk, bike or train to Milan. The initiative organized by the Austrian Alpine Club, Alpine Association, and funded by Expo 2015 Austria has promoted the theme of travel and sustainable mobility green, inviting children to travel 260 km with sustainable means for the environment.
The purpose of the initiative is to drive people, especially the younger ones, to make use of vehicles that reduce pollution as much as possible and to understand what are the aspects that influence the choice of an electric vehicle for moving in urban centers.
From today, all African countries can participate in the competition “Energy Art & Sustainability for Africa”, which aims to offer events that will be fully supported by Expo 2015.
The big challenge for the sustainable development of Africa and the participation of Africa in this new cluster of the World’s Fair and among the participating countries, is obviously crucial to the theme of Expo Milano 2015 “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”, especially taking into account the challenges and the role the continent should play in the coming years in nutrition, agriculture and economic growth related to sustainable development.
African countries are going through a phase of major development.
Besides Eni, to operate in support of many African countries is MASHAV, Israel’s Agency for development and international cooperation . MASHAV has developed several programs to produce high-yielding varieties and internationally marketable avocado, citrus and mango . Various rootstocks are introduced to adapt to the different conditions of the soil and water. The program also includes the enhancement of research laboratories of small tissue cultures in a plant for production scale semi – commercial .
Among the various exhibitions, it is interesting to note that the Netherlands has contributed with other countries, at Expo Milano 2015, facing great challenges for different problems in the world.
