Israel Dedicates a Wood to Cardinal Martini

At Tiberias, there is a wood with more than 5.000 threes in honor of Cardinal Martini. The former archbishop of Milan was really connected to Israel. He considered himself a friend and a brother of Israelis.

For such reason, Israel’s Ministry of Tourism together with the ecologic organization¬†KKL have decided to plant trees in his honor.

The wood was planted on June 2013 and today, it has more than 5000 trees.

It is located in Galilee, a place the Cardinal really liked and a very significant place for the monotheistic religions.

At the event, there were also the nephew of the former archbishop,¬†Giovanni Facchini Martini, KKL director in Italy, Shariel Gun, Monsignor Francesco Fumagalli, and the director of Israel’s Ministry of Tourism, Avital Kotzer Adari.
