At Tiberias, there is a wood with more than 5.000 threes in honor of Cardinal Martini. The former archbishop of Milan was really connected to Israel. He considered himself a friend and a brother of Israelis.
For such reason, Israel’s Ministry of Tourism together with the ecologic organization KKL have decided to plant trees in his honor.
The wood was planted on June 2013 and today, it has more than 5000 trees.
It is located in Galilee, a place the Cardinal really liked and a very significant place for the monotheistic religions.
At the event, there were also the nephew of the former archbishop, Giovanni Facchini Martini, KKL director in Italy, Shariel Gun, Monsignor Francesco Fumagalli, and the director of Israel’s Ministry of Tourism, Avital Kotzer Adari.
